Every Line We Can Get, None We Owe

We buy test components outright rather than accepting consignment, which is expensive and is the reason we can put a stock shaft in your driver without losing anything by it.

A word on how this page differs from the wall of logos you will see elsewhere. Those walls usually represent dealer agreements, and dealer agreements come with volume expectations. Ours do not exist. What follows is simply an inventory of what is physically hanging in the studio for you to hit.

Heads

Clubhead Lines on the Wall

Current season models in the categories listed, plus a deep archive of previous generation heads that we keep because they are frequently the better value and occasionally the better club.

Shafts

Over Three Hundred Test Shafts

Cut to length, fitted with adapters for the major head systems, and organised by weight rather than by brand so that we can move sideways through a fitting without a sales pitch attached.

Wood shafts

Driver, Fairway and Hybrid

  • Fujikura
  • Mitsubishi
  • Graphite Design
  • Project X HZRDUS
  • Aldila
  • UST Mamiya
  • Accra
  • KBS TD
  • Autoflex
  • LA Golf

Weight coverage runs from about 40 grams through 90, in flexes from senior through double stiff. We hold multiple weights within a single model family rather than one token sample, because weight is the variable that moves first.

Iron shafts

Steel and Graphite

  • True Temper
  • KBS
  • Nippon
  • Project X
  • Steelfiber
  • Recoil
  • Modus
  • Dynamic Gold

Both constant weight and ascending weight sets, in soft stepped and hard stepped variants where the maker offers them. Graphite iron shafts are stocked properly rather than treated as a curiosity, because they are the right answer more often than tradition admits.

The humidity problem

Grip Choice Is a Local Question

Between May and October the air here does something to a smooth rubber grip that has to be felt to be believed. Players who came from drier states routinely arrive with a grip model that worked perfectly at home and turns slick by the fourth hole in July.

We push corded and hybrid textures harder than a fitter in Arizona would, and we ask what time of day you usually play, because a seven in the morning tee time and a two in the afternoon tee time are effectively different climates.

It is a nine dollar component that can undo a two thousand dollar set of irons, so we spend real time on it.

Something Missing From the Wall?

If there is a specific head or shaft you want to try and we do not hold it, tell us at booking. We can usually bring in a test sample within a week or two, and we will let you know honestly if we cannot.
