Collected with permission, lightly trimmed for length and nothing else. First names and an initial, because most people would rather not have their handicap indexed by search engines.
Three weeks of listening to me describe a slice and Reid never once suggested a new driver. He shortened the one I own by three quarters of an inch, moved the weight and sent me home. The ball still curves but it stays on the property now, which is all I asked for.
I had a hole between my 4-iron and my 5-wood that I had been ignoring for years by just hitting the 5-wood softly. Priya put actual numbers on it, showed me it was thirty-four yards wide, and built a hybrid that lands in the middle. Obvious in hindsight. Nobody had ever measured it.
The chalk on the sole thing is a bit of a trick but it works. Watching where my wedge was actually entering the ground versus where I thought it was entering explained about five years of fat shots in one minute.
I play November to April and keep a second set here. Reid fitted the Florida set completely differently from the one I use in Michigan, less bounce and a narrower sole, and explained exactly why. I did not know that was a thing you were supposed to do.
Marcus spent more time asking about the bunkers at my home course than about my swing. Turns out our sand is unusually firm and I had been playing a wedge with far too much bounce for it. One club change and I stopped skulling everything over the green.
What I appreciated was being told the shaft that came stock in my irons tested better than the two upgrades we tried. He could have said nothing and taken four hundred dollars off me. The spec sheet has the numbers on it and I checked.
My putter was an inch and a half too long, which apparently is normal for something bought off a rack. Cutting it down changed where my eyes sat and I stopped aiming left. Cost less than a round of golf.
Booked a full set fitting and came out with a lie angle adjustment on the clubs I already had, plus a recommendation to come back in a year. I have never left a golf shop having spent less than I planned. Genuinely disorienting.
The thirty day check found that my grips had settled and the swing weight had drifted two points. They fixed it while I waited and did not charge me. That is the part that made me recommend the place to four people.
We Are Not Going to Publish the Bad Ones
Nobody does, and any studio claiming otherwise is being creative with the truth. So treat the page above as what it is: a selection. What we can tell you honestly is the shape of the complaints we do receive, because those are more informative than the compliments.
The most common is build time. Seven to twelve days feels long when you have just spent an afternoon getting excited about a new set, and a component backorder can stretch it further. The second most common is that a session ran over and somebody was late for dinner. The third is people who expected a package deal and found our pricing structure inconveniently plain.
The complaint we almost never receive is that the clubs did not fit, which we take as evidence that the method is sound even when the calendar is not.
